F-Secure is a technology company. The company specializes in the area of cyber security. The range mainly includes various programs for security and privacy products, which are also used to manage risks online. Customers are found in a number of sectors and the largest operations are conducted in the Nordic market. The company was created via a spin-off from WithSecure.

Hi Atte! Can you say how common minimum purchase guarantees are in these types of contracts in this industry? The release stated that “The now-negotiated contract, when realized, includes a guaranteed minimum billing that begins from the service launch to the customer.” And that got me thinking, if the expectations for the entire contract were “only” at the level of the lower limit you highlighted, there probably wouldn’t be a minimum billing clause worth mentioning either? Is it too simplistic to think that the (potentially) upcoming contract will be significantly more than those disclosure thresholds?  Perhaps several times higher? Ps. Interestingly, the contract wasn’t signed at the end of the year as originally expected. Perhaps it will come yet, maybe even today or in the coming days. There is a risk, of course, that something has gone wrong and it won’t come at all since it’s delayed, but I think that would be strange.

Signing the contract is being left to the very last minute if we don’t start hearing about this deal soon. I really have to wonder about the communication when the press release boasts: “The agreement is a testament to F-Secure’s ability to serve the world’s leading communication service providers with innovative, highly scalable cybersecurity services,” and according to the release, the impacts on investments, for example, are quite significant. Yet nothing has actually been agreed upon, or has it? Will there be a deal or won’t there? Might be that there is, but then again, might be that there isn’t.

Here are Ate’s and Ron’s comments specifically regarding the announcement above.  F-Secure announced on Tuesday that it had signed a strategic partnership agreement with one of the world’s leading telecommunications service providers. The agreement is separate from the negotiations announced by the company in November, and thus the company’s growth strategy, relying on Tier 1 operators, currently appears to be progressing promisingly in the right direction. The new agreement strengthens our view of improving growth prospects for 2026, and our current forecasts are starting to show upward pressure. F-Secure’s stock has also recently started to react to the improving growth outlook. After the share price increase, the stock is valued according to our current forecasts for 2026 at approximately 12x adjusted P/E ratio and 11x EV/EBIT ratio, which are still not demanding levels. Thus, there is still upside potential if the company succeeds in achieving growth in the coming years. Sopimuksen toteutuminen näyttää mielestämme hyvin todennäköiseltä, ja se vahvistaa ensi vuoden kasvunäkymää                             F-Secure updated its disclosure policy a while ago, and based on that, I outlined the possible scale of the agreement:  According to F-Secure’s disclosure policy, the threshold for customer agreements to be disclosed as a stock exchange release is either 7 percent in a single year or a total of 15 percent over three consecutive years of F-Secure’s current year’s revenue. In light of this, by applying the first condition, the value of the agreement would be at least EUR 10 million according to our calculations. In light of the second condition, the agreement could be over EUR 20 million over the next 3-year period.

Thanks, @Atte_Riikola, very precise operations from the company. I suppose the markets will gradually start to believe in the company, and the rapid decrease in indebtedness in the coming years, as projected by Inderes, seems quite credible, as the business generates good cash flow. Exceptionally, in this company, I would even approve freezing the dividend until indebtedness figures are below 100%. Bloomberg probably already knows the counterparty to the agreement soon
