Solar Foods established in 2017 is a global leader in sustainable protein production, solving the global food production problem by offering a completely new alternative to existing animal and plant proteins.

Solar Foods’ first product is the naturally occurring single-cell protein Solein®, which can be used as a food raw material with high protein content. In the long run, Solein production will improve global availability of protein and increase price and quality stability of food raw materials by disconnecting food production from agriculture.

Most likely, the sales dip caused by Springvest’s in-kind dividend has recovered. This bounce then perhaps caused speculation that the big players have an inkling that something is happening. Anyway, news is coming soon, as the plans for the Lappeenranta factory have been promised to be published before Christmas. This, however, was already known before these movements.

What happened to this yesterday? The stock has been in a downward trend all autumn, and suddenly yesterday afternoon it started to rocket, ending up +11.93. No news was found. Could some insider information have leaked beforehand..?

Solar Foods adds new initiatives to the US market. This time, protein products with Pothos. Presumably, the direct impact of the cooperation will remain limited, similar to Fermenta, but these are necessary steps to increase Solein’s awareness in Solar Foods’ spearhead market. Here are Thomas’s comments regarding this latest bar news.  Solar Foods’ collaboration with Fermenta is a step towards strengthening Solein’s awareness and creating a market in the United States. In our opinion, the news is a step in the right direction on Solein’s commercialization path, but due to the small size of the partner, we do not expect the collaboration to have a significant direct impact on Solar Foods’ figures. Fermenta Introduces Protein Bars Made from Solein® in the United States | Kauppalehti

I forgot to post earlier, but in the summer I got to taste a Solein protein bar. I liked it myself and it tasted just like a protein bar – except it didn’t have that somewhat unpleasant aftertaste typical of a regular protein bar. I’m not a big consumer of protein bars, but my own assessment of the taste was that in this category, it would be a perfectly comparable product to others.

Current status: During my visit to Solar Foods first factory, I was informed the main production has been deliberately shut down. Production is continuing only on a smaller scale. The decision appears to be driven by high inventory levels. Not sure if bigger factory is helping here…

Solar Foods announced in&#xa0;<a href="https://www.inderes.se/releases/solar-foods-launches-soleinr-in-the-united-states">a press release</a> this morning that it has begun marketing Solein in the United States. The company achieved self-affirmed GRAS (Generally recognized as safe) status for Solein in the US in September 2024. Since then, Solar Foods has registered its Factory 01 production facility in Vantaa, Finland, with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and completed other requirements to commercialize Solein in the United States.&#xa0; 
The US is only the second market in which Solein can be sold (Singapore is the first), so the launch significantly increases Solein&apos;s sales potential.&#xa0; The launch of Solein with Restaurant Olmsted is sure to generate positive media coverage for the company.&#xa0; However, in order to generate significant revenue, the company will need to secure collaborations with large food manufacturers or restaurant chains, and this area of the news flow is of particular interest to us.
