Detection Technology is a global solution and service provider of X-ray detectors for medical, security and industrial applications. The company has offices in Finland, India, China, France and the USA. Detection Technology was founded in 1991 and has its headquarters in Espoo.

Last year, by the way, a negative profit warning was issued on June 17th at 5:00 PM; I was thinking that maybe the market was remembering that. I wonder if we’re in the clear now, as it’s unlikely Martola and company will arrange a Midsummer surprise for us anymore  Perhaps Björksten’s purchase was a signal that all is well and to have a good Midsummer

Yeah, it’s not some industry-disrupting panel; I think DeeTee has just named those large flat panels the “BIG” family, and they played around with a pun about “big news.”  Exactly this. DeeTee won’t be hovering at these price levels once airport CT equipment is upgraded, but we’re waiting for that day. You get a 5% dividend now, and that large cash reserve also provides security, so personally, I’m patient enough to wait for the breakthrough in peace.

As I understand it, the new XL panel won’t be a major game-changer, but rather a response to the fact that competitors are already starting to offer them. IGZO detectors for battery factories could be an interesting growth driver, but my understanding is that these products are tested for several months or even years in proprietary prototypes, followed by potential applications for various certificates and so on. In any case, the situation is very peculiar; the company is launching new products and moving to larger premises in Shanghai, effectively building for future growth. Furthermore, there are several known growth drivers in the market that people are waiting for, yet the share price just keeps falling. According to my own playbook, the risk-reward ratio is quite asymmetrical: either we tread water/drop slightly/rise slightly (unless a major customer is lost), or we take off like a “pike from the shore” (rocket) once the markets recover and the new products start to bear fruit.
