Big investment by Bilia: Bilia will open seven new facilities for used cars in Sweden and Norway
Bilia, which is one of Europe´s largest car chains, opens in the next few years seven new facilities for used cars in Sweden and Norway. The investment in Sweden happens under the name of Netbil, which was started already in 2005. Through the initiative Bilia substantially broadens its offer on the used car market with more car brands and a broader range of year models.
- Netbil has strengthened its position through the years and we judge that the business can grow sharply in the next few years, which makes us grow from today 5 Netbil auction plants to 12 for both auction and traditional car plant, says Per Avander, MD and CEO at Bilia.
Bilia has during all years sold used cars and has concentrated on newer used cars. Now the range is expanded with more car models – both older cars and car brands which Bilia is not working with in its core business.
Today Bilia sells about 50,000 used cars annually and the total market for used cars in Sweden and Norway is about 1.8 million cars every year.
Bilia is expected within a five-year period to sell 25,000 cars via this channel.
-Netbil today sells about 3,500 used cars per year through car auctions online, says Per Avander and adds that the investment will further strengthen Bilia’s business through both increased volumes in the significant used car trade, but also in the important Service business through the sale of Bilia’s service subscriptions and Bilia’s tyre hotels.
The new facilities will be situated around big cities in Sweden and Norway. Bilia is also expecting to hire new employees to the new facilities.
Netbil Begagnat, which stands for simplicity, accessibility and a more personal response, has recently started one used car center in Kungsängen, Stockholm and one in Økern, Oslo. Roll-out of the new facilities will happen on a continuous basis in the next few years.
Bilia is one of Europe’s largest car chains with a leading position within service and sales of cars and transport vehicles. Bilia has 134 facilities in Sweden, Norway, Germany, Luxembourg and Belgium.
Bilia sells cars of the brand Volvo, BMW, Toyota, Renault, Lexus, MINI, Dacia and transport vehicles of the brand Renault, Toyota and Dacia.
Bilia has today a fully expanded business with sales of new cars, e-commerce, spare parts and store sales, service and repair workshops, tyres and car glass and financing, insurance, car washes, fuel stations and auto salvage under the same roof, which gives a unique offer in Swedish and Norwegian car dealership.
