Castellum is the highest-ranked real estate company in the world in TIME Magazine and Statista’s ranking of the World’s Most Sustainable Companies 2026. The company also ranks highest among Swedish companies and is ranked eighth globally across all industries.
“For us, reduced energy consumption is both profitable and sustainable,” says Pål Ahlsén, CEO of Castellum.
The ranking covers 750 companies and is based on an analysis of more than 5,800 companies. The assessment is based on more than 20 indicators in areas including climate, energy, transparency, reporting, external sustainability ratings and social metrics.
“The recognition confirms our long-term efforts to integrate sustainability into the business. Over the past five years, we have invested nearly SEK 1 billion in energy efficiency improvements, tightened climate and circularity requirements in our projects, and had our climate target approved in accordance with SBTi’s new standard for the buildings sector. This strengthens our competitiveness and reduces our climate impact,” says Filip Elland, Head of Sustainability at Castellum.
