Here is a fresh company report on Finnair from Antti and Kaisa in light of global events. Finnair’s share price has fallen by approximately 15% as the security situation in the Middle East has tightened since the Q4 earnings day. For now, the concrete effects of the short-lived crisis on Finnair’s business are still limited, but the prolongation of high fuel prices and potential indirect impacts on demand raise the stock’s risk profile. However, we have not made any major changes to our forecasts at this stage. In our view, the earnings improvement consistent with our forecasts is already priced into the stock, which is why the expected return on a one-year horizon remains below the required rate of return in our estimates. Due to the risk pricing having balanced out following the share price decline, we are raising our recommendation for Finnair to Reduce (prev. Sell), but we reiterate our target price of EUR 3.00. Here are Antti’s and Kaisa’s comments on Finnair’s February performance.  Finnair released its February traffic report on Thursday. Overall, the report was slightly stronger than our expectations, supported by brisk growth in passenger volumes and a passenger load factor that rose to a good level. However, the outlook is clouded by the tightened security situation in the Middle East and the associated risks to demand and fuel prices. We are monitoring the development of the situation and will update our view on Finnair as necessary. Sunny morning from Finnair  February traffic figures are now out. All key traffic figures increased compared to the comparison period, which was burdened by industrial action. The passenger load factor rose by 2.6 percentage points and unit revenue by 2.3%. Exceptionally difficult weather conditions continued and weakened arrival punctuality, similar to January. Perhaps the worst of the extreme cold and snowstorms are now behind us for this winter

For comparison, information about Norwegian: Group delivers record results for 2025 and increases dividend For 2025, the Norwegian Group delivered an operating profit (EBIT) of NOK 3.732 million, the highest in the company’s history. The fourth quarter resulted in an operating profit (EBIT) of NOK 21 million, an improvement from a negative result in the same period in 2024. The Board of Directors will propose a dividend of NOK 8.80 per share for 2025, NOK 844 million in total, subject to approval at the Annual General Meeting. Quite a dividend is expected. The fleet is also being renewed: In October, Norwegian took delivery of the first aircraft from its order of 80 new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, which will ensure one of Europe’s most modern and fuel-efficient fleets for years to come.

Here is the company report on Finnair from Antti and Kaisa following Q4.  Finnair delivered a strong finish in Q4 to a disrupted year marked by industrial action, which, contrary to our expectations, also enabled the return of capital to shareholders. Guidance for the current year’s results, on the other hand, was in line with our and the market’s expectations. We made mainly slightly positive adjustments to our forecasts for the coming years. In our view, yesterday’s 16% share price increase loaded the stock with excessively high expectations, especially when compared to industry sector valuations, meaning the expected return for the stock over the next year remains unsatisfactory in our base case scenario. Consequently, we are lowering our recommendation for Finnair to Sell (prev. Reduce), but we are raising our target price to EUR 3.00 (prev. EUR 2.70) following the forecast upgrades and a lower required rate of return. The transfer of the shares is based on the authorisation given by the Annual General Meeting on 27 March 2025.&nbsp;After the transfer of the shares, Finnair holds 21,431 own shares as treasury shares.<div></div>
