Clean Motion AB: Clean Motion drives the climate debate at Almedalen together with the 2030 Secretariat

CLEMOPress release2026-06-01 08:15

Clean Motion AB is participating in Almedalen Week 2026 alongside the 2030 Secretariat, Sweden's most influential coalition in the transition of the transport sector. EVIG, Clean Motion's solar-powered lightweight vehicle, is the official vehicle at the 2030 arena in Visby.

The transport sector accounts for approximately one third of Sweden's climate emissions. A significant share of these emissions comes from short-distance urban deliveries carried out daily using vehicles oversized for the task. This is a systemic flaw repeated thousands of times a day. EVIG was developed specifically for this segment: electric, compact, solar-powered, and designed for the urban environment.

As official vehicle partner, Clean Motion brings a concrete answer to a question that has until now lacked its voice in the major forums: Sweden does not just need to electrify, but to electrify the right way. The technology and the vehicles already exist. What is missing is regulation and incentives that take energy efficiency as seriously as electrification. During Almedalen Week, Clean Motion is hosting a seminar as part of the 2030 Arena's official programme, Tuesday 23 June, 12:30-13:00 at Speakers Corner.

"We are in Visby to contribute to the climate conversation with a concrete example of what is already possible. The technology exists. The vehicles are on the road. What is needed now are structures that enable the scaling of resource-efficient solutions in Swedish cities," says Stefan Janols, VP Sales and Marketing, Clean Motion AB.

"Almedalen Week is at its best when it becomes a place where concrete solutions meet the bigger questions facing society. That is why we are very pleased about the collaboration with Clean Motion. EVIG is an example of how innovation, electrification and resource efficiency can contribute to more sustainable transport in our cities - and that is precisely the kind of solution-oriented conversations we want to create space for at our arena," says Maria Stenström at t Green Mind/2030 Secretariat.

Clean Motion is a member of the 2030 Secretariat, a politically independent coalition of more than 70 Swedish companies, organisations and public agencies working to ensure Sweden meets its statutory climate target for the transport sector by 2030.
