Daniel Hopstadius resigns as CEO of W5 Solutions AB (publ) for personal reasons, and board member Erik Heilborn is appointed interim CEO
W5 Solutions AB (publ), today announces that Daniel Hopstadius, the current CEO, has decided to resign from his position as CEO for personal reasons. Daniel has expressed a desire to reallocate his time and energy to better balance professional demands with personal commitments, including more time with his family and being present in Älmhult.
As of January 1, 2024, Daniel will instead serve as CEO of the subsidiary W5 Solutions Production AB. This decision enables Daniel to maintain his dedicated commitment to W5 Solutions' continued success, while also resolving Daniel's personal situation.
The Board of Directors of W5 Solutions AB (publ) warmly thanks Daniel Hopstadius for his significant contributions as Group CEO. Under Daniel's leadership, W5 Solutions has achieved historic growth, expanded from a local to a Nordic company and improved both sales and profitability. His visionary leadership has been central to the company's position as a leading player in the defence and security sector. Erik Heilborn, born 1962 and member of the Board of Directors of W5 Solutions AB (publ), has been appointed interim CEO. With a master's degree in mechanical engineering from KTH Royal Institute of Technology and studies at the Stockholm School of Economics, as well as a background as a reserve officer in the Amphibious Corps, Erik is a leader with a successful career. His experience as CEO of Telenordia and IBS as well as leading positions within Telia, TDC and AFRY Group make him ideal to lead W5 Solutions AB (publ) during this transition period
The Board of Directors has initiated the process of searching for a permanent successor and expects to be able to appoint a new CEO for the Group as soon as possible.
