Duni Group Launches New Packaging Series with Enhanced Performance and Reduced Climate Impact
Duni Group introduces Octaview - a new packaging range for cold dishes designed to improve recyclability and lower climate impact. Made from APET, the packaging features a grey base instead of black, making it detectable in optical sorting systems and therefore easier to recycle. At the same time, the design has been updated to deliver better performance and presentation.
Octaview is Duni Group's own design, developed based on customer insights and created to meet high standards of both sustainability and functionality - with the aim of putting food at the center. A crystal-clear, anti-fog lid showcases the food from every angle, while the generous plating surface provides space for an elegant presentation. The updated construction simplifies handling in kitchens and stores, while enhancing the visual appeal of the contents. The series is optimized for stackability and secure transport, featuring a leak-proof lid that protects the food.
The new packaging is made from APET, a material that improves recyclability compared to previous Octaview versions made from PS. Additionally, the base has changed from black to grey, enabling identification in optical sorting systems for proper recycling. Calculations using Duni Group's CO₂ calculator, verified by Carbon Trust, show that these changes collectively reduce CO₂e emissions by up to 78% compared to the previous Octaview edition.
- Octaview is designed to meet customers' need for sustainable solutions that work in practice. By combining improved recyclability with a design that highlights the food and simplifies handling, we demonstrate that sustainability and functionality can go hand in hand, says Nicklas Lauwell, Chief Officer Food Packaging Solutions, Duni Group.
The series targets grocery and catering businesses and is available in 11 different sizes and formats for cold dishes. This launch complements Duni's range for hot meals, creating a complete solution for sustainable take-away packaging.
