Fasadgruppen’s subsidiary BYENS TAG & FAÇADE A/S in Denmark has signed a contract with A/B Vanløsegaard, one of Denmark’s largest tenant-owner associations, to carry out an extensive renovation of its architect-designed property in Copenhagen. The property comprises 170 apartments and 10 commercial tenancies. The work will be initiated in spring 2023 and last for about 1 year.
The Vanløsegaard property was built between 1923-24 by the award-winning architect Arthur Carl Johan Wittmaack. Wittmaack has also designed several iconic Copenhagen buildings such as Axelborg, Park Bio and Absalon’s Church. The order value amounts to approximately DKK 44 million.
As part of the project, existing ventilation systems will be energy-optimised and 5,200 sq.m. of the property’s roof will be renovated while solar cells are installed facing the property’s yard. In addition, a new system for use of rainwater will be established. The renovation project has been allocated funds from the City of Copenhagen’s urban renewal pool.
