Freetrailer reports 18.9% growth in number of rentals in Q1 2026

The first quarter is traditionally our low season, and this year the period was marked by very poor weather, particularly in Denmark. Nevertheless, Q1 2026 was characterised by growth across all markets, with continued high activity on the Freetrailer platform.

Traffic highlights in Q1 2026

• 387,319 rentals in Q1 2026
  +18.9% growth in rentals compared with Q1 2025
• 6,728 rental units in the market at the end of Q1 2026
  +22.9% compared with Q1 2025
• 1,072 rental units in production, of which 925 represent an expansion in the total number of rental units
• The rental frequency was 65.7% in Q1 2026, compared with 67.7% in Q1 2025. This level reflects continued strong growth in new locations, where it typically takes 6-12 months for rental frequency to reach the same high level as at existing locations.
• 1,726,703 rentals over the last 12 months as of 31 March 2026, compared with 1,483,657 in the preceding 12-month period
• Number of users on the Freetrailer platform: 1,153,221 as of 31 March 2026
• The Netherlands delivered 13,889 rentals in the quarter, compared with 305 in the same period last year
• New record on 28 March 2026 with 9,407 rentals in a single day (the previous record was set in May 2025 at 8,335)
   

High weekend activity and strong capacity utilisation

The rental pattern in Q1 2026 remained clearly weekend-driven, with Saturday as the strongest rental day. In selected markets, capacity utilisation was particularly high, including Denmark with a rental frequency of 145% on Saturdays and 131% on Sundays, as well as Sweden with a rental frequency of 100% on Saturdays during the normal low season.

A rental frequency above 100% reflects that the same unit is rented out several times within the same day.

Continued development of the platform and user activity

During the quarter, Freetrailer continued its work to improve the user experience in the app, particularly in the search and booking flow. The updates implemented have contributed to a more stable user journey and reduced friction in key parts of the customer experience.

At the same time, we are seeing high capacity utilisation at weekends, and the booking development in March indicates that the seasonal uplift has started earlier this year than last year. Monthly traffic updates from May 2026

Going forward, Freetrailer will publish traffic data on a monthly basis, with the first update on 1 May 2026. The more frequent updates are intended to make it easier for shareholders to follow the development of the business on an ongoing basis.
