Front Ventures AB: Front Ventures lyfts fram som strategiskt viktig investerare av Brave1

I höstas blev Front Ventures godkända av ukrainska finansdepartementet som investerare i de bolag som valts ut av den statliga innovationsenheten för försvarsbolag, Brave1. Detta innebär att Front Ventures får tillgång till de bolag som valts ut och fått startkapital av Brave1-programmet. Front Ventures kommer även genom programmet att regelbundet få nya investeringsförslag (vilket är konfidentiell information) och möjlighet att bli en av de första externa investerarna i ukrainska försvarsbolag. Dessa bolag har dessförinnan finansierats med kapital genom Brave1.

I början av december förra året hölls evenemanget Brave1 Components i Kiev med över 3000 deltagare med fokus på utvecklingen av den inhemska komponentmarknaden. Front Ventures deltog på evenemanget som eventsponsor och valde därefter att investera i drönarmotor-tillverkaren AeroMotors. Brave1 lyfter nu fram Front Ventures och affären som strategiskt viktig för ukrainska försvarsindustrin i ett inlägg på Linkedin. Inlägget är inkopierat nedan.

Up to 60,000 engines per month thanks to investments - foreign venture funds are entering the Ukrainian components market.

In early December last year, we held the Brave1 Components event, which was dedicated to developing the domestic components market. In the same month, AeroMotors, a cluster company, attracted $550,000 in investments from Front Ventures (publ). These funds were specifically earmarked for scaling up production. As a result, the company is already reaching a capacity of up to 60,000 engines per month.

Currently, investment in Ukrainian components is rare. The market is still in its infancy, so foreign funds are not yet rushing to invest in this area. Therefore, each investment not only contributes to the development of the component market, but also sends a positive signal to other venture funds.

Previously, with the help of Brave1, the company attracted investments from MITS Capital, an international investment group that supports the development of Ukrainian defence technologies as part of our defence tech ecosystem.

Not only does AeroMotors develop and manufacture electric motors for drones, it also tests them independently. The company offers the widest range of motor models, from 7 to 32 inches and from FPV to heavy platforms.

Developing the domestic components market is an important step towards achieving independence for our defence industry, and systematic investment is key to this development.
