Garo: GARO's public charging stations - now Eichrecht-compliant for the German market

GARO

GARO's LS4 and Twin+ charging stations are now compliant with the Eichrecht standard and available for sale in the German market for public charging.

As a natural step in GARO's continued growth in electric vehicle charging, in the first quarter of 2023 the company began establishing operations in the German market. A market that GARO previously reached via export sales. Germany is the country in Europe with most electric vehicles, more than one million, so there's a great need to speed the expansion of charging stations to meet the demand for public electric vehicle charging.

The German market requires that charging stations meet the requirements of the Eichrecht regulations if they are to be used as public charging where users are billed for their energy consumption. The requirements of the Eichrecht regulations include, among other things, that a compliant charging station must include a visible energy meter enabling the user to see their exact energy consumption and that each charging point is `Eichrecht calibrated'.

GARO can now announce that two existing products in its range, LS4 and Twin+, have been supplemented with new models with the technical solutions, documentation and test approval from an external party required to be used for public charging with a payment solution on the German market.

"The company's establishment in Germany and the fact that we now have Eichrecht-compliant products for the German market are in line with GARO's strategy to enter new markets and open the way for major growth opportunities for the GARO E-mobility business area. We see great potential in the German market, which can now embrace two product alternatives that have long been available in the Scandinavian countries, meet all applicable requirements and are a safe alternative for German electric and hybrid vehicle owners," says Niklas Rönnäng, Business Area Manager GARO E-mobility.
