A somewhat poorly written news article, which to my eye seems to contain contradictions. If we start from the idea that “Enterprise Value” = “Purchase Price” + “Interest-bearing Debt” - “Liquid Assets”, i.e., EV = MCAP + Net Interest-bearing Debt, then in the news, net cash reduces the purchase price to be paid??? Now the buyer pays 70-80 M€, gets approx. 150 M€ in net cash and the business on top of that??? What am I not understanding?  Edit: Could it be that the journalist confused net cash and net debt…

Joo se on noin kuin @P_O_Niemi tuossa totesi. Antti avasi tuota aiemmin vielä tarkemmin Konecranesin ketjussa. Ja se mitä tulee Hiabin IR:ään niin omakohtaisen kokemuksen mukaan voin sanoa samaa Akista eli olkaa vaan sinne rohkeesti yhteydessä, jos kaipaatte lisätietoja yhtiöstä

Minä luen tuon niin, että Hiab on ollut seurannassa ihan vain, koska Inderes on halunnut seurata kattavaa joukkoa isoja suomalaisia pörssiyhtiöitä, eikä Hiab ole maksanut siitä. Nyt Inderes on arvioinut niin, että sen kannattaa seurata vain maksavia asiakasyhtiöitä ja ilman maksullista asiakkuutta ihan vain tosi tosi suuria suomalaisyhtiöitä. Eli Hiab ei nykytilanteessa enää mahtunut ns. ilmaiseksi seurattavien joukkoon. Jos Hiab olisi lopettanut maksullisen seurantapalvelun, se olisi sanottu suoraan ja lyhyesti. Nyt päinvastoin sanotaan, että lopetus tapahtuu Inderesin päätöksellä, ja sitä pitää vähän perustellakin.

HIAB CORPORATION, PRESS RELEASE, 31 JULY 2025 AT 3:00 PM (EEST) Hiab has closed the sale of MacGregor Hiab (at the time Cargotec) announced on 14 November 2024 that it had signed an agreement to sell its MacGregor business to funds managed by Triton (“Triton”). (“the Transaction”) On 1 July, Hiab announced that regulatory approvals for the sale of MacGregor had been obtained from other jurisdictions, including the European Union, but the approval from the Chinese State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) was still pending. Hence, the closing of the Transaction was expected by 1 October 2025, later than initially expected 1 July 2025. On 10 July 2025, Hiab announced that all regulatory approvals had been secured, and the closing of the Transaction was expected on 31 July 2025. Triton has today transferred the agreed purchase price to Hiab and obtained control of MacGregor’s business. Hence, the Transaction has been closed on 31 July 2025. MacGregor has been reported as part of discontinued operations from the fourth quarter of 2024 onwards.
