Itera secures AI governance certification - among the first in Norway under ISO/IEC 42001

Itera
Oslo, 26 May 2026 - Itera ASA has achieved certification in accordance with
ISO/IEC 42001, the international standard for management systems for artificial
intelligence (AI).

The certification, conducted by DNV, positions Itera among the first companies
in Norway to obtain this accreditation.

ISO/IEC 42001 sets requirements for governance, risk management and continuous
improvement of AI systems. The certification is integrated into Itera's existing
management framework, which includes ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 14001 (environment)
and ISO 27001 (information security).

Itera has a significant and growing use of AI across its operations and client
deliveries. Approximately half of the company's projects include AI components,
and AI tools are widely used throughout the organisation. The certification
provides a structured and independently verified framework for how Itera
develops, deploys and governs AI solutions.

"AI is becoming business-critical for our clients. This certification
demonstrates that we combine advanced use of AI with robust governance, risk
control and ethical standards," says Arne Mjøs, CEO of Itera ASA.

The company expects the certification to strengthen its competitive position,
particularly in sectors where responsible use of AI, data protection and
regulatory compliance are key decision criteria.

Itera sees increasing demand for AI solutions that are both effective and
compliant with emerging regulation. ISO/IEC 42001 supports the company's ability
to deliver such solutions across existing and new markets, including
internationally.
