Kempower collaborates with Aimo to deliver its DC fast charging solutions to SkiStar Lindvallen in Sälen, Sweden

• Kempower and Aimo are collaborating with SkiStar to install four new Kempower fast EV charging points in the popular ski resort of Lindvallen in Sälen.
• As cars are by far the most common means of transport to Sälen, SkiStar is committed to making things easier for guests with electric cars while also helping to reduce emissions.
• There are plans to later supplement the new charging facility with a bus charger to power a new local electric bus that will operate around the Sälen area.

Kempower, a global manufacturer of DC chargers headquartered in Finland, has partnered with Swedish mobility company Aimo to bring public fast charging to SkiStar's Lindvallen ski resort in Sälen for the first time. The new facility has been equipped with Kempower's fast charging system for electric vehicles and is operated by Aimo Charge, which already installs and operates charging stations for electric vehicles in Sweden, Norway, and Finland. 

Lindvallen, Kempower's first charging location in collaboration with Aimo Charge, is the largest and most visited ski area in Sälen, in western Sweden, and a popular winter destination for families in the Nordic region. A total of four Kempower Satellite DC charging points, each with a capacity of up to 150 kW, now serve central Lindvallen, close to the Experium experience center, restaurants, accommodation, and ski slopes. The high power is intended to allow guests to quickly charge their cars without the need for an overnight charging opportunity.

85% of SkiStar's guests travel by car, making on-site charging options increasingly important to meet the growing number of electric car drivers in the Nordic region. The region is currently a world leader in vehicle electrification, with most of all newly registered cars in the Nordic region being either EVs or plug-in hybrids.

SkiStar plans to expand the charging system in the near future to be able to charge an electric bus that will transport tourists and staff between SkiStar Lindvallen and other nearby facilities. Kempower's charging infrastructure is modular and scalable, which means that SkiStar can easily add bus charging to the current system and upgrade the total available power later.

SkiStar has received backing from Klimatklivet, an investment program led by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency to support projects that reduce climate impact, including those with a focus on expanding EV infrastructure.

The addition of EV charging to SkiStar Lindvallen is one of several initiatives SkiStar is leading to develop its business to become more sustainable and climate-resilient. The company operates all of its ski resorts with renewable energy and fuels and is committed to supporting guests to make more sustainable choices.
