Magnus Håkansson appointed Chairman of Kvd Group

RATO BPress release2026-07-01 09:00

Magnus Håkansson has been appointed Chairman of the Ratos portfolio company Kvd Group and assumed the position in June 2026. He succeeds outgoing Chairman Jacob Landén.

“We are delighted that Magnus Håkansson has accepted the role as Chairman of Kvd Group. Magnus combines strong commercial acumen with a proven ability to drive execution and long-term value creation. He has extensive leadership experience from consumer-facing and retail businesses, including as CEO of MediaMarkt Sweden. Through his long-standing involvement with MEKO, Northern Europe's leading automotive aftermarket group, he brings deep industry expertise and a strong understanding of the broader vehicle ecosystem. His expertise and leadership will be invaluable as we continue to accelerate the company's next phase of growth,” says Gustaf Salford, CEO of Ratos.

“I am honoured to take on the role as Chairman and to support Kvd Group’s continued journey. The company holds a unique position as Sweden's leading trading platform for vehicles, offering expertise and security in every deal and I look forward to working with the management team and organization to strengthen the company’s market position and capture new opportunities,” says Magnus Håkansson.

About Kvd Group
Kvd Group creates value through two complementary business areas that together form a unique position in the Swedish vehicle market:

Digital marketplace. Kvdbil operates an open digital marketplace where all kinds of used vehicles — passenger cars, light trucks, heavy vehicles and machinery — are intermediated between sellers and buyers in a transparent, efficient, and secure way.

Physical retail with a best-in-class customer experience. Forsbergs Fritidscenter is a full-service retailer of new and used motorhomes and caravans, offering a broad range of brands across all price segments, an accessories store, and workshop services.

A total of about 26,000 used vehicles and 800 motorhomes and caravans are sold and brokered each year.

Kvd Group reported net sales of SEK 1,549m and adjusted EBITA of SEK 100m in 2025. The company is headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden, and is led by CEO Johan Ekener. Ratos holds a 100% ownership stake.
