<div class="abstract">The globally leading airlaid nonwoven producer Glatfelter is now, after years of development, launching, a 100 % biobased and home-compostable airlaid material at the trade fair INDEX23 in Geneva. By utilizing OrganoClick's biobased and home-compostable binder, the OC-Biobinder, traditional fossil-based binders in the material have been replaced. The commercialization will start Q2 2023.</div>Glatfelter and OrganoClick have collaborated for nearly five years in the development of the new airlaid material. OrganoClick's biobased and home-compostable binder, which replaces the fossil-based binder in the traditional material, is made of raw materials from side streams in the food industry originating from wheat, corn, lemons and shrimp shells.
