<div class="abstract">Peab has been commissioned to improve the bearing capacity of road 745 between Bjuråker and Nässviken in Hudiksvall Municipality. The customer is the Swedish Transport Administration and the contract is worth SEK 105 million.</div>The stretch of the road between Bjuråker and Nässviken will be reinforced to bearing capacity class BK4, which is the highest bearing capacity class on roads in Sweden.This stretch is a very popular tourist road and runs between the northern and southern Dellen Lakes in Gävleborg County.The entire stretch of the road is about 22 kilometers and will be kept open for traffic during construction."We're really pleased to be part of reinforcing the new road and improving traffic safety on it. We will put a lot of effort into avoiding damaging the cultural historical values on and near the road. One of the challenges will be to preserve, protect and move the milestones from the 1800s that are close to the edge of the road," says Jörgen Eriksson, Region Manager Peab.The project includes a climate calculation where the steps Peab takes to reduce the climate impact of the roadwork will be measured. Existing asphalt will in part be reused and the new road will be paved with ECO-Asfalt from Peab Asfalt.The project is a traditional contract.
