<div class="abstract">Peab has been commissioned to renovate Högdalen Reservoir in southern Stockholm. The customer is Stockholm Vatten och Avfall AB and the contract is worth SEK 159 million.</div>The water reservoir began operating in 1962 and is now, more than 60 years later, in need of renovation. The project comprises demolition work, concrete repairs, extensions and upgrading technical installations. The purpose is to extend the life of the reservoir and continue to have a reliable supply of water to Stockholm's inhabitants. "We're proud to contribute to preserving an important facet of Stockholm's infrastructure. The Högdalen Reservoir is a well-known landmark and this project requires both technical expertise and careful planning," says Carl Johan Söderberg, Region Manager Peab."The renovation of Högdalen Reservoir is part of a larger effort to upgrade Stockholm's entire drinking water infrastructure. Every single aspect is an important piece of the puzzle to ensure the supply of drinking water now and for the future," says Rickard Andersson, responsible for the renovation of all of Stockholm's reservoirs at Stockholm Vatten och Avfall AB. This construction contract was preceded by a so-called phase 1 agreement where Peab was contracted to optimize the project with the right quality together with the customer and handle risks and uncertainties. The project is now entering phase 2, which entails signing a construction contract.The project is a traditional contract in collaboration.
