Vestia, a subsidiary of Sentia, has today signed a contract with Kungälv
Municipality to construct two ice arenas forming part of Kungälv Arena.
Kungälv Municipality is located in the Greater Gothenburg area of Sweden.
The contract value for Phase 2 of the ice arenas is SEK 605 million. The
project is being delivered through a strategic partnering model.
The new ice arenas will include a bandy hall that will also serve as a venue
for larger events, a competition and exhibition hall for figure skating and
ice hockey, as well as supporting facilities such as changing rooms, storage,
restaurant and more.
-We are very pleased to be taking the next step in Kungälv Arena. Throughout
this project, we have had an excellent collaboration with Kungälv
Municipality, which has brought us to the point where we can now move into
Phase 2 and build modern ice arenas that deliver maximum value for athletes
and visitors alike. We look forward to continuing this strong partnership all
the way through to completion, says Christian Wieland, Deputy Group CEO and
EVP Sentia Sweden.
Kungälv Arena is a new, comprehensive centre for sport, culture and events,
planned to include a swimming hall, ice arenas, sports halls, and facilities
for meetings, dining and other activities. The project is structured as a
strategic partnering arrangement comprising several sub-projects, each
commissioned in connection with political decisions on implementation.
Work on Kungälv Arena commenced in 2024. The groundbreaking ceremony for the
ice arenas is scheduled for August 2026, with completion expected in 2028
