OSLO, NORWAY - 4 April 2022 - With reference to Zwipe’s announcement on 15 December 2021, biometric fintech pioneer Zwipe can confirm that TSYS, a leading global provider of payment services to card issuers (and part of Global Payments Inc, a member of the S&P 500), chose to work with Zwipe to bring biometric payment cards into the North American market and beyond. This follows today’s release of TSYS’s feature article on the partnership with Zwipe and their intentions with biometric payment cards. With TSYS’ card production expertise - the company produced approximately 100 million cards of all types in the United States during 2021 - and existing production facilities, Zwipe’s single-chip functionality would be seamless to integrate into the TSYS card production process. In a recent North American market study, a staggering 91% of those surveyed said they want a card that is tied to their fingerprint. And 79% of the respondents said they would be willing to participate in a biometric card pilot program. Mieleen tulee cd-levyn kehitysaskel, minidisc, jonka piti olla tulevaisuutta. Oikeasti oltiinkin jo mp3 soittimissa ja täysdigitaalisuudessa ja niin vain kaikki fyysinen levyn toistaminen tuntui todella kankealta. Kuten tässäkin, osa luopui cd-levyistä vasta pitkän kapinoinnin jälkeen.

Myönnän en ole kaupankassalla käyttänyt mobiilimaksamista (ainut kerta jäi yritykseksi), enkä kyllä haluakkaan antaa Googlelle kortti ja ostotietojan vaihtoehtoja ollessa, muutenkin koitan olla googlen palveuluihin liikaa keskittämistä.  En epäile että mainitsemasi palvelut voivat olla nopeampia kuin korttilla maksaminen, jolla etämaksaminen vie ehkä sen 5 sek.  Mietin että maksutapahtuman vahvistus voi toteutua asiakkaan puhelimen kautta kaupan yhteyksien sijasta ja tästä johtuen se voi olla hyvinkin nopeampaa. Edelleen uskon että kortteja ei tulla kokonaan ainakaan korvaamaan mainitsemillasi vaihtoehdoilla tai muillakaan kovin pian. Muistelen että enemmistö ihmisistä on kyselyissä ilmoittaneet halukkuutensa jopa maksaa mahdollisuudesta biometrisestä tunnistuksesta maksutapahtumassa PIN:n sijasta.  Eli uskon että tämä on vain kehitysaskel eteenpäin korttimaksamisessa. Ehkä joskus tosiaan päästään korteistakin, mutta milloin sitä en usko että ihan lähivuosina tapahtuu ja Zwipekin ehtii kivasti netota ja osakkeen omistajat samalla. MobilePayta käytän tuskin kerran kuussa.  Tuskin Erik Selin  sijoitti viime syksynä NOK 104 miljoonaa 26.10 NOK keskihinnalla ellei hän uskoisi Zwipen.

Pakko kyllä kommentoida tähän. Apple ja Google Payta ei kyllä kortti päihitä nopeudessa. En sinua tunne, enkä tiedä, miten hyvin on mobiilimaksaminen hallussa. Mobile Pay on mobiilimaksamiskokemuksena hyvin paljon huonompi kuin Apple tai Google Pay, joten siinä kortti kyllä vienee voiton. Toivon, että olet oikeasti kokeillut, millainen kokemus mobiilimaksaminen parhaimmillaan on, jos käytät myös omia kokemuksia sijoituspäätöksessä. Omat kokemukset eivät missään nimessä ole huono juttu, mutta siinä tapauksessa pitää verrata siihen parhaimpaan kokemukseen. Minun kantani siis tähän keissiin on, että jää niche-tuotteeksi, varsinkin jos kuluttajan pitää tuosta maksaa jotain extraa.

En tunnusta oleeni tämä mies   Totesin vain siinä, että unohda koko homma.  Kassa avuliaana, että voisen puhelin numerollakin kirjata. Jos +50-vuotiat ovat tälläisiä niin Biometrsillä pankki- ja luottokorteilla sekä tunnistus korteilla (Access) voi ainakin seuraavt 20-vuotta olla ihan hyvä tulevaisuus. Afrikassa keski-ikä on paljon nuorempaa ja voi olla myös muita syitä puhelimella maksamisen suosioon monessa paikassa.  Parisen vuotta sitten luin jutun mobiili-maksamisesta ja olin ainakin jonkun verran vakuuttunut sen suuresta suosiosta tulevaisuudesa, ehkä just Kiinassa ja Afrikassa. No vaikka MobilePay on näppärä, jos ei sitä käteistä satu olemaan ja muutenkin, niin jotenkin vain uskon tohon korttiin silti edelleen enemmän tulevaisuudessa.
