Here are Tommi’s comments on this latest release.  Betolar announced this morning that it has developed a new solution for protecting critical infrastructure, such as substations, against drone and other physical threats. The solution is an opening in a large and growing defense market, which is a new direction for Betolar’s commercialization efforts. Betolar states that the solution utilizes the company’s existing technology, and the company has also filed a new patent application related to the solution. The announcement does not cause immediate changes to our forecasts, and we await further information on the topic in connection with the company’s Q1’26 report on April 23. To me, that seems more like an April Fool’s joke. That’s how much business value it has. Betolar’s operations are indeed becoming desperate.

The stock has entered a strong rally with this announcement. Trading volume is still quite low, of course. Linking to the defense sector is a sure way to generate at least some hype . There is real potential here, and I hope things start working out. I have a small portion of the stock in my portfolio. It’s just funny to notice that announcements in this sector seem to have an incredibly strong and immediate impact.

Recent events in Finland and elsewhere in Europe have highlighted the vulnerability of power grids and other critical infrastructure. Damage to substations, and especially main transformers, can cause widespread and long-lasting disruptions to the functioning of society. Replacing transformers can take over a year due to long delivery times and high demand. Thus, the financial impact of damages can be significant.

Here is a new company report from Tommi on Betolar  Betolar has not reported sales successes in early 2025 similar to Q4’25, based on which we estimate sales development to have been weaker than our expectations. As a result, we have lowered our revenue forecasts for the current year and the next few years. The valuation remains tight in the short term, and financing-related question marks keep the risk level high. Given this overall picture, the stock’s risk-reward ratio remains subdued despite market potential. Reflecting the forecast changes, we lower our target price to EUR 1.1 (previously 1.3) and reiterate our Reduce recommendation. <p>We initiate coverage of the materials technology company Betolar with a Reduce recommendation and a EUR 3.00 target price. Betolar has since 2016 developed the Geoprime concept that allows cement to be replaced in concrete production. Its biggest benefit is a clear reduction in CO2 emissions from concrete production. As a whole, we see the valuation of Betolar’s share as too high relative to the risks in the short term, and therefore wait for the risk/return-ratio of the share to improve.</p>
