Well, I’m thinking that if you sell a product for 100 dollars and the costs for this product are 80 dollars, then you make a 20-dollar profit. Then it’s just down to exchange rates how much those 20 dollars ultimately end up being in euros at the bottom line. Assuming that the currency distribution is exactly the same. Yes, so the overall size of the business is shrinking. The profitability % remains relatively the same, but the absolute level of profit decreases in the same proportion as revenue.

I’m trying to do some bearish reflecting (with a rather messy structure): There has been some talk about China risk regarding DT, but looking into it, it seems to be a quite relevant threat to me. China’s aggressive industrial policy + sanctions (Made in China) as well as the technological development of Chinese companies (iRay Technology etc.) are clear threats. The Chinese are constantly closing the gap even in higher technology segments (e.g., PCCT). DT’s investment in HaoBo China was critical, and they are involved as a “local” through that, but if other Chinese players soon get their high-tech products to a similar level while the state favors locals, why would DT succeed in China at all? Margins in China have permanently dropped to a lower level. In addition to these, DT’s largest security sector customer, Nuctech, is on the US sanctions list and under investigation by the EU. If it loses market share in the West or is forced to start using Chinese suppliers, then DT will lose more market share. Or then Nuctech will start manufacturing the necessary equipment entirely itself, as it has also invested in these technologies. Additionally, another major customer is also Chinese, United Imaging, which is striving to strongly develop its own components. Is it possible for DT to operate in China as a “local” company in the more affordable categories and simultaneously operate successfully globally as a premium player? I think there is a big risk that, in the long run, the China business will be under heavy pressure. Almost 80% of DT’s employees work in China. About 70% of revenue comes from the APAC region, and most of the components and sub-assemblies come from China. Massive China risk (expertise, components, and customers). Furthermore, business in the Americas practically collapsed last year, even though some manufacturers may have purchased DT supplies through Asian subsidiaries (assembly relocation). In any case, the share of the Americas is only a few percent now. Will DT ever gain a significant foothold there? In practice, all of the revenue growth forecasted by DT for this year is based on these:   The Chinese medical market normalizes completely (is this realistic?).   Security investments at European airports restart once “liquid rules” are technically resolved (will this be fully realized?).   Production in India starts generating revenue (will it go smoothly?).
