Detection Technology is a global solution and service provider of X-ray detectors for medical, security and industrial applications. The company's solutions range from sensor components to optimized detector systems with microcircuits, electronics, mechanics, software and algorithms. The company has offices in Finland, India, China, France and the USA. Detection Technology was founded in 1991 and has its headquarters in Espoo.

I don’t know, somehow this is my go-to stock and I have faith in this Iova. Can’t really find anything similar. Well, maybe if the situation really changed, my mind would change, currently down about 3%.

Yeah, that’s a strong statement you’ve got there, I’ll admit. However, my own thought is that a company with this (in my opinion, already proven) potential could be:  tens of millions in debt (still) significantly smaller in terms of revenue heavily loss-making for another two or three years while investing in that expected future growth  And it could still be a highly attractive investment. I see this from that perspective as a very unique treat. An anomaly. Of course, if the earnings remain at this level across all segments or deteriorate, and (major) growth never comes, then I have misjudged the situation. Naturally, in that case, there won’t be any takeover bid from anyone either, and my budding, foil-wrapped worry about a potential acquisition is completely baseless.

I would like to comment on that last point. In my own spreadsheets, Deetee’s revenue was €75M in 2016 and €101M at the end of 2025. I don’t know if I’ve missed something, but with these figures, I wouldn’t personally describe Deetee as a growth company. Having said that, I would happily own the company for the other reasons you mentioned. Even to a bargain hunter like me, who values companies conservatively, the firm is cheap. But I’m stingy enough that it would still need to come down a little further before I open a position.

I’ll keep this brief. Personally, at this price level, I would under no circumstances accept a buyout offer at a “measly” 50% premium. After all, we are talking about a:  debt-free profitable dividend-paying still cash-rich GROWTH COMPANY  The Inderes moderators removed a couple of my messages as well as one reply directed at me from @Tirehtoori3. Apparently, my tinfoil-hat-wearing fear that DETEC might, in a worst-case scenario, be the target of a hostile takeover bid was too much for some forum member. A shame. Instead of flagging, responding would do much more to develop the thinking on this forum. Everyone would win. Not just the individual blowing the whistle.

For those who bought at a high price, a 52% premium on the current price doesn’t really feel that significant, but for those who timed their purchases well, it surely tastes sweet. As a DT shareholder, I would gladly welcome a similar offer.

“Significant premium”  Hopefully, something similar isn’t in store for DT. Long-term shareholders certainly haven’t been happy with this acquisition news.

DT reports Q1 results on Apr 23. It shouldn’t take more than to maintain last year’s rather low EBITA level to see gains, and in the base case of some growth upside is already meaningful.
