BioPorto is a Danish in-vitro diagnostics company with headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark. The company was founded in 2000. BioPorto has one marketed product, the NGAL test, for early diagnosis of acute kidney injury (AKI), which is commercially available in Europe, Canada, Asia, and Israel.

It has received breakthrough designation from the FDA for AKI in the pediatric indication, for which it is currently conducting data analysis following the completion of enrollment of patients for its Phase 3 study which will lead to an expected application to FDA. Future plans include further FDA submission for adult indication as well as other markets. 

BioPorto

Curasight is a Danish biotech company focusing on developing and improving the detection and treatment of cancer in a more gentle and efficient way. The company has two pipeline products that both use radionuclide (nuclear medicine) to facilitate better diagnosis and treatment of various cancer types; uTRACE use the so-called uPAR as a biomarker to diagnose the aggressiveness of cancer, and uTREAT use the uPAR as a attachment to treat the cancer.

Based on good phase 2 data that has already been collected or will be in the first half of 2022, Curasight is expected to prepare phase 3 for uTRACE later in 2022 and 2023 for the following four cancer types: prostate, brain, neuroendocrine, and head and neck cancer.

The company develops a portfolio of vaccines for diseases such as COVID-19, influenza, and breast cancer through the use of its non-viral cell-based expression system, ExpreS2, which is recognized for handling protein challenges. ExpreS2ion has developed Expres2, which is a technology platform for efficient and fast non-clinical development and production of complex proteins for new vaccines and diagnostics.

The company’s current primary product is the corona vaccine candidate, ABNCoV2 in phase 2, co-developed with its partner, AdaptVac of which ExpreS2ion owns 34%. The vaccine candidate has been licensed to Bavarian Nordic has global commercialization rights and responsibility for further clinical development of the vaccine and is expected to initiate phase 3 testing for the product candidate in the first half of 2022.

Excluding the major heavyweight technology stocks in US (&lsquo;Magnificent 7&rsquo;), of which most are up strongly year-to-date, the general stock market is currently also in negative development.
