On Tuesday, Suominen announced the preliminary result of its rights offering of around 28 MEUR. The issue was oversubscribed, so the company will raise gross proceeds of 28 MEUR from it. Since the company's main owners had already provided a full subscription guarantee for the issue and the calculated markdown of the subscription price was substantial, we believe the success of the arrangement was clear from the outset. We have already accounted for the impact of the share issue on Suominen's balance sheet and number of shares in our estimates.
According to preliminary results, a total of 81 million new shares were subscribed in the issue, corresponding to approximately 106% of the 77 million shares offered. As a result of the share issue, Suominen's number of shares will increase to 135 million shares, as previously announced. The final result of the issue is expected to be published on July 2, 2026, and trading in new shares is expected to begin on July 6, 2026. The funds raised through the issue will finance Suominen's turnaround program, which we believe will help the company return to profitability in the coming years after the losses of recent years.
