Well, another Inderes analyst has left to try their wings as a portfolio manager  Novo is the fund’s largest investment. Well, my own choice (as a risk investor) between Easor vs. Talenom is indeed Easor. I’ve added 60k shares this month and sold all my Talenom shares. In Nordnet, the acquisition cost of Easor with old shares is zero. I wonder if Nordnet will still correct the acquisition costs or if the tax authorities will eventually notice…? At least the sales of Talenom show a nice tax loss..

It definitely is a balancing act, we’ve fallen significantly and systematically behind the reference index. I wonder why it hasn’t been merged with another fund. It’s a difficult situation if a major shareholder is selling off their 5% stake through the bid side, and there are no big buyers…  The stock price has nowhere to go but down if they can’t find a big block buyer, and for some reason, a large number of shares have accumulated, and they want to start mirroring themselves to the reference. And then, a bit more support. It took its time, but apparently the sufficiently cheap (and expected?) level has finally been reached.

Säästöpankki’s funds have been heavily on the selling side in Easor, and based on comments found on the fund’s website, this trend can be expected to continue for some time. One big “forced seller” combined with generally weak sentiment regarding SaaS companies (few eager buyers) inevitably puts pressure on Easor’s share. It will be interesting to see what the situation looks like once Säästöpankki has finished its selling. Here is the company report on Easor from Atte following the Q4 results.  Easor’s reported figures for last year contained no material surprises, and we have only made slight fine-tuning to our forecasts. This year, the company is going all-in on growth and building international distribution channels, which is currently mainly reflected in the cost lines. If the company succeeds in achieving strong international growth, the stock offers significant value creation potential. However, the company still has to prove itself regarding international growth, and this year’s growth rate will still fall short of targets. Additionally, stock market sentiment for software companies is weak, and based on the start of Easor’s journey as a listed company, investors are not currently ready to significantly price in future growth. At the current valuation (2026e EV/S 2.3x), we see the risk-reward ratio as attractive, and the stock has fallen below the lower end of our estimated fair value range. Thus, we raise our recommendation to Buy (prev. Accumulate), but revise our target price to EUR 0.85 (prev. EUR 1.0). Talenom is an accounting firm that offers a wide range of services within accounting, invoice management and payroll. In addition to the main business, financial analysis and the possibility of real-time control via the company's web services are offered. The largest proportion of customers are found among small and medium-sized corporate customers in the Nordic market. The company was founded in 1972 and has its headquarters in Oulu.

Would you like to share the reasons why you terminated Talenom because of Easor?

An existing Talenom customer using Easor can also switch to using Netvisor. This option was suggested to me when I terminated my contract with Talenom because of Easor.

I suppose one of the driving factors behind this entire demerger process was the observation in Sweden that the “forced implementation” of Easor caused a loss of accountants and, subsequently, customers. For the sake of the accounting firm business, this had to be abandoned, and since Easor still needs more customers, the decision was made to start offering it to others. Of course, Easor is likely still the choice for completely new customers and for accountants who already use it.

Easor is cheaper than its competitors, or at least below the mid-range. This is the impression given in interviews. It improves the accountant’s efficiency, making the current price level worth paying. As long as this remains true, Talenom is unlikely to switch to more expensive software or to something that is slower to use from an accountant’s perspective. If a new customer is currently using other software and wants to move to Talenom, in these cases Talenom can continue to use that other software if the end customer so requires (e.g., if they don’t want to learn anything new). This is what has been stated. For the next 5 years, Easor will likely remain Talenom’s primary software. Beyond that, it’s harder to say. If the main owner remains the same, the current situation will likely continue for the most part, with competing software then accounting for x% of usage.

I’m not familiar with the topic, so I’ll comment generally. Talenom provides a significant testing platform (in terms of scale) for Easor. Likewise, they receive feedback on, for example, tests of new features, legislation, etc. The people at Easor certainly know their stuff for now, but when the staff changes in the years to come, it’s good to have a strong partner. All software licenses tend to get x% more expensive annually—why would Easor specifically start milking Talenom for something more than what was agreed upon in the demerger?

Of course, but you are in a completely different position depending on whether you are a buyer or a seller, and as far as I understand, Talenom doesn’t sell anything to Easor.

The same applies to decisions the other way around, so I expect the mutually beneficial coexistence to continue. Easor is certainly the biggest winner here, as it initially seems that sales to other accounting firms have started off well…
