Lamor is an industrial technology company. The company develops products and related services in the field of recycling. Lamor has been preparing for the start-up of the first production line at its Kilpilahti production facility, which produces recycled oil from recycled plastic as a raw material for the plastics industry. As this is a new and developing industry, Lamor has gone through the safety requirements for start-up with the Finnish Safety and Chemicals Agency (Tukes). At the beginning of March, Lamor received conditional approval, and at the end of the month, based on inspections, the authorities specified the final requirements for the start-up of the first production line. Before the start-up of production, a limited number of additional installations related to possible exceptional situations must be implemented. Lamor will issue a separate announcement when the Kilpilahti plant has produced recycled oil for the first time.

It was almost -80%, quite an epic performance. Now that the money has run out and the auditors have confirmed it, it seems that the sales in Lamor’s financing are over. If there’s any debt financing available for this kind of mess, the terms will certainly be strict. I might even participate in an offering if the current owners were diluted significantly. And the board would be completely replaced right away. “Lamor always disappoints” but the board just continues. I really don’t understand how they even dare. We’ll see when they remember to give a new update from Kilpilahti, Q1 is already over.

Q1 2026 ended the day before yesterday, according to my information. There was no announcement that production had started in Kilpilahti, but there was also no announcement that it hadn’t. According to previous information, it was supposed to start during Q1. Even in the financial statement release published on March 30, the ramp-up of production during Q1 was considered possible.

Didn’t Lamor’s history already have some challenges related to revenue recognition in Kuwait? Some changes were made there to revenue recognition, and figures were cumulatively adjusted. The goodwill on the balance sheet cannot be considered an insignificant item either. The company trades on the stock exchange with a valuation of just under EUR 30 million, and there is goodwill of just under EUR 20 million on the balance sheet. A continuously negative result might give reason to reassess goodwill downwards, if one were to look at the matter with very optimistic glasses. But of course, I don’t have a better view on the matter than the management, and the auditor has also stamped the papers.

That was an “interesting” auditor’s report. A red flag, even if the exact shade remains vague due to the convoluted language. The estimation risk included in the project completion rate (management’s responsibility) may include the temptation to sugarcoat the situation due to the financing situation or due to the failure of internal controls. QPR messed up in the past (the latter reason) and had to dip into the owners’ pockets. This seems to be the case here as well. It’s great that the auditor has done their job properly and done what they are paid for. Not for management’s cheerleading, but for securing the shareholders’ backs. Today, Monday at 5:30 p.m., a stock exchange release was published, stating that the auditors have expressed concerns about the company’s going concern in their statement. In other words, a “clean opinion” was not received. The Lamors shares are now being sold off. The IPO (initial public offering) was tough; I think it ended up being -75%.

The negotiations concerned approximately 50 employees. As a result of the change negotiations, a maximum of 15 job positions will be reduced in Finland, and additionally, the company may implement temporary layoffs of up to 90 days. The change negotiations were related to Lamor’s measures to streamline the company’s global operating model, enable flexible scaling of operations and cost structure in a changing operating environment, and strengthen the company’s competitiveness and profitability. Changes will also be implemented, where possible, through natural attrition and job rearrangements. The changes are expected to be implemented by the end of the year at the latest.
