Netum to test the security of Statistics Finland’s information systems

Netum has won an agreement on the testing of the information security of Statistics Finland's information systems. The two-year agreement covers the technical information security testing of information systems and includes the possibility of a two-year option period.

Statistics Finland carries out extensive application development. The number of information security considerations that need to be addressed has increased significantly, placing growing demands on both the systems and the expertise required to develop them.

Information security testing is an objective assessment designed to determine whether a system meets the information security requirements set for it. When planning and conducting the testing, it is important to take a comprehensive approach to the different aspects of information security. These include, for example, penetration testing, code review, assessment of application development processes, and architecture review.

“Digital security is the foundation of everything we do at Netum, and we have strong expertise in both technical and administrative cyber security. Security is not a single measure or project, but a continuous part of responsible digital operations. We are very pleased with this opportunity to support Statistics Finland in building sustainable security capabilities as part of Finnish society”, says Netum Repe Harmanen, CEO of Netum Group Plc.

Statistics Finland produces reliable and impartial statistics on Finnish society. Its role is to refine data collected from various sources into statistics and make it available for the benefit of everyone in Finland – citizens, decision-makers, researchers and others who need reliable information. Statistics Finland is a performance-based agency operating under the Ministry of Finance. It employs approximately 650 experts in various fields.

The procurement will be carried out through an internal competitive tendering process of the Cyber Security and Data Protection Expert Services 2025 (00751) dynamic procurement system. The duration of the contract is two years, in addition to which the procurement includes the possibility of one option period of up to two years.
