Oh, look at that, I wasn’t aware of Chapter 15, Section 2, Subsection 3, Paragraph 3 of the Securities Markets Act (SMA)  I had assumed that the maximum of 10% of the group’s turnover from the previous financial year would have applied here as well.

These have indeed been treated separately. Quote from the comment:  The administrative fine provision previously made by OmaSp for deficiencies in anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism was, in turn, 3.0 MEUR, which is just over one percent of the previous financial year’s turnover. Based on these, we estimate that the administrative fine currently under consideration could be 1–3 MEUR, should the Financial Supervisory Authority (FIN-FSA) ultimately deem it appropriate.

An even larger administrative fine regarding money laundering is expected, for which the bank has made a provision of 3 million euros:  In April 2025, the company announced that it had received the  final report of the Financial Supervisory Authority’s inspection  regarding the prevention of money laundering and terrorist  financing. The implementation of corrective measures is  proceeding as planned. The company is preparing for possible  sanctions imposed by the Financial Supervisory Authority and  has made a 3 million euro expense provision for the first  quarter of 2025.  No expense provision had been made for the administrative fine announced now; I wonder if Kasper mixed these two matters up?

The Financial Supervisory Authority (FIN-FSA) has imposed a €400,000 administrative fine on Oma Savings Bank for deficiencies in maintaining its insider list. One wonders if the countdown for Liiri has begun. This is pretty much within the CFO’s territory.

In this latest interview, these issues are discussed, among others. According to the CEO, they can no longer hide behind any exceptional circumstances; instead, the credit loss levels of recent quarters are now part of normal business operations.
