Kulukurssi: Can those of you who believe in the power of new CEOs and/or board members explain to a simple guy how the situation would change after a replacement? I’ve always been of the opinion that it doesn’t matter who sits in the chair, as long as it’s not consumer retail where a leader-worshipping community rushes to shop on command when the need strikes. I suppose they couldn’t change the direction anyway, because the product has approvals, obstacles have been removed, and obstacles will continue to be removed. Approvals are being sought for new products and obstacles are removed as they are identified. Explain it in very simple terms.  It matters quite a lot what kind of strategy has been formulated and how it is implemented. Perhaps with a board change, the strategy would be a notch closer to optimal, or by changing the CEO, this strategy would be implemented more optimally. I don’t know if Optomed’s strategy is the best possible one and if it is currently being implemented in the best possible way. So, I’m not here calling for changes. However, the board’s share positions are a concern. I didn’t even remember that my own stack is still larger than that of any single board member. If I remember correctly, there have been times when I had more than the entire board combined. Apparently, this position and company in my portfolio interest a small investor like me this much. Hopefully, the board is more interested. I seem to remember looking at the management team’s option programs and they looked sensible. So I believe my interests are aligned with theirs. I’m not so sure about the board.

In a company as small as Optomed, surely the CEO is the star salesperson, or at least should be when negotiating with the big US players. How about it—is he traveling to the States? I don’t know.

Management is the most important thing in a company. Always.  I bet this principle will only be reinforced in an increasingly technological world where opportunities are constantly growing. There’s your simple explanation

I’ve always been of the opinion that it doesn’t really matter who occupies the seat, as long as we aren’t talking about consumer retail where a leader-worshipping community rushes out to buy things on command whenever the urge hits. Why would a large hospital chain or healthcare provider be any more interested in the product + service than they are now, just because the management was replaced? Surely they couldn’t change the direction much anyway, since the product has its permits, hurdles have been cleared, and obstacles will continue to be cleared in the future. Permits are being sought for new products, and barriers are removed as they are identified. Break it down for me in the simplest terms possible.

The Board’s responsibilities include the company’s strategy, among other things, and the Chair leads the Board. It’s not just a job of banging the gavel and handing out speaking turns.

I guess it doesn’t matter who’s swinging the baton there​ I’m more interested in why the insiders aren’t buying the stock now while it’s “cheap”
