Here is a company report on Telia from Joni regarding Q3.   We reiterate our Reduce recommendation for Telia’s share and raise the target price to SEK 43.0 (previously 41.0), reflecting minor estimate revisions and a lower required rate of return. In terms of numbers, Telia’s Q3 was clearly above expectations, and the company raised its guidance. In the big picture, confidence in earnings growth and especially cash flow has improved over the past couple of years, which at the same time has reduced the company’s risk profile. However, it will be challenging to sustain the slope of earnings growth for longer, and therefore, in our view, the valuation picture is stretched (2026e adj. EV/EBIT 18x and P/E 20x). Inderes’ recommendation for Elisa: Accumulate. For Telia: Reduce. The operators’ earnings are moving in completely opposite directions. In fact, they have been for quite some time already. It brings to mind Berenberg’s recommendations on these operators.

Here are Joni’s quick comments on Telia’s Q3 results   Telia’s Q3 results beat our expectations, driven by broad-based service revenue growth and good cost discipline. The company slightly raised its full-year EBITDA and free cash flow guidance, reflecting stronger-than-expected operational momentum. Strong performance, particularly in the turnaround market of Norway, along with successful cost savings, provides confidence in continued earnings growth. This solid execution creates moderate upward pressure on our forecasts, even though we have considered the stock’s valuation picture relatively tight. Telia, which has underperformed for a long time, is emerging as a real challenger to Elisa, and a change of guard in the telecommunications market is near, especially if similar results are seen in the coming years. Here are Joni’s quick comments on Telia’s Q2 results   We consider Telia’s Q2 report positive, and in terms of numbers, it was slightly better than our expectations. Revenue grew slightly better than we anticipated, driven by strong momentum in Norway. Adjusted EBITDA was in line with expectations, but non-recurring costs were higher than expected, so the reported result was very close to our estimates. The figures were well in line with market expectations. Cash flow was clearly stronger than our forecasts, the consensus, and the company’s guidance, but the company expects it to level off in the second half of the year. By market, Sweden continued its good momentum, Finland was slightly soft, and Norway showed a positive pick-up. Overall, it was a good report and one expected by the market, but in our view, the good performance and earnings growth are already well priced into the stock.
