US University Customer Purchases Nexstim NBS 6 for Research Purposes

Nexstim Plc (”Nexstim” or ”Company”) announces having received an order for an NBS 6 system from a new customer in the United States. The customer is utilizing this NBS 6 to conduct research.

An advantage Nexstim offers compared to regular TMS systems on the market is its real-time E-field guidance, important for delivering accurate and repeatable stimulation to a specific area in the brain.

For TMS research, being able to control the stimulation location accurately and repeatably is extremely valuable. In order to understand, which TMS protocols and parameters work best, researchers need to be able to have confidence that key variables can be controlled while others are systematically adjusted. Consistent stimulation delivery is an important part of that process.

The user of an NBS 6 can be confident that whatever the location, angle or tilt of the TMS coil relative to the head, a stimulus with the calculated and displayed E-field will be reliably delivered to the targeted cortical location.

To date, Nexstim NBS 6 is the only FDA cleared and CE-marked navigated TMS system for pre-operative mapping of the motor and speech cortices of the brain, attesting to this unsurpassed accuracy and precision.

Mikko Karvinen, CEO of Nexstim, says:

"We are pleased to welcome this new customer to the growing global user community of Nexstim's navigated TMS technology. The order further strengthens Nexstim's presence among leading research institutions and demonstrates the continued interest in high-accuracy, high-precision navigated TMS for research applications."
