Neste produces transport fuel and renewable fuels. Today, the largest operations and extraction are held in the Nordic market, where the company is active in the entire value chain, from extraction to delivery to port depots. In addition, the opportunity is given for direct sales where customers can pick up fuel at selected stations. The largest market is in the Nordic region, and the company is headquartered in Espoo, Finland.

Refined products in particular will soon be in short supply if the strait is not opened soon. Related image. It shows Singapore jet fuel. Even if the crisis remains short-lived, it should still result in a long tail for fuel prices and thus a positive impact on Neste’s earnings.

Neste is one of the few stocks that managed to benefit significantly from the 2022 energy crisis. I wonder what follows now? Presumably, refining margins will rise along with the price of oil, as they have before, inventories will yield good one-off gains, and since a massive amount of refined products passes through the Strait of Hormuz, the refining margin in Europe could rise even further as supply tightens.

According to the Nomination Board’s proposal, there would be eight members of the Board of Directors instead of nine, and the remaining candidates will be elected in accordance with the Nomination Board’s proposal.  In terms of the investment case, this is completely insignificant, but are these “reasons beyond one’s control” actually common? If the reason is the current employer, a non-compete agreement, or legislation restricting positions of trust, shouldn’t that have been asked/checked before the nomination? It sounds a bit amateurish, but since they don’t want to disclose more details, it will likely remain a mystery.

Spain’s Repsol is cutting its biofuels capacity target for 2030 by almost a million tons. The previous target was 2.4–2.7 million tons, the new one is 1.6–1.8 million tons. If current capacity is approx. 1 million tons, that would represent a 60–80% increase for the years '26–'30. Spain’s Repsol cuts renewable energy targets | Reuters “It now expects to reach a production capacity of between 1.6 and 1.8 million tons of biofuels and between 0.7–0.8 TWh of biomethane. The previous targets were 2.4 to 2.7 million tons and 2.1 to 2.3 TWh.” Previously, Repsol has stated that its share of the European SAF market in 2025 was about 10%.

The expanded cooperation agreement helps World Fuel strengthen the availability of sustainable aviation fuel and supports the company in meeting regulatory requirements, such as the ReFuelEU Aviation regulation and the UK sustainable aviation fuel mandate. Through World Fuel’s European network, sustainable aviation fuel is reliably available to commercial airlines, business aviation customers, and general aviation operators. The agreement builds on the companies’ long-standing cooperation and combines World Fuel’s jet fuel distribution capabilities and infrastructure with Neste’s sustainable aviation fuel production and supply capacity. This includes Neste’s current ability to produce up to 500,000 tons of sustainable aviation fuel annually at its refinery in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
