Ascelia Pharma is expected to release its Q3 2026 interim report on 5 November 2026. The following day at 11:00, CEO Magnus Corfitzen will present the results and provide an update on the company’s latest developments in a live online event.
The report arrives shortly after the most important regulatory update of the year. On 11 October, Ascelia disclosed the official minutes from the 9 September Type A meeting with the FDA. The agency maintains that approval would require additional clinical evidence from a new clinical study, but also acknowledged that the evidence may potentially be generated through a prospective analysis of images from the Phase 3 SPARKLE study using a different primary endpoint. Ascelia does not plan to conduct another clinical study and will instead evaluate the most efficient path forward in the US, while advancing regulatory activities in Europe and continuing the partnering process. The quality related issues raised in the CRL have been discussed with the FDA, and agreement has been reached on a path to resolution.
On the investor call the following day, management stated that the next step is to identify an appropriate endpoint and obtain alignment with the FDA before any new image reading is initiated, and that this would run as a Type C process. No specific timeline was given, but the stated ambition is that the current financing should be sufficient to reach that clarity. Earlier in the period, on 24 September, the company announced the publication of an Orviglance clinical study in the Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
In Q2, the operating loss narrowed to SEK 12.1 million from SEK 23.0 million a year earlier, cash stood at SEK 38.0 million at the end of June, and the cash runway was stated as extending into Q2 2027. In addition to the financial results for Q3, the cash position at the end of September and the effect of the implemented cost reductions on the burn rate will be natural points of interest. On the regulatory side, only a few weeks will have passed since the October update, so the presentation is more likely to be an opportunity to hear how management is approaching the work than to bring firm conclusions. Any indication of how the company thinks about sequencing and timing from here, including the work ahead of a potential Type C meeting, would be useful, and the same applies to the European process and the partnering dialogue, where management has said it will provide updates as it knows more.
