OptiCept gains positive test results for its PEF technology

Today, OptiCept announced that the Italian research organization CREA (Council for Agricultural Research and Economics) has confirmed extended shelf life and quality improvements for freshly pressed juice when using OptiCept’s PEF technology. We view the test results as positive, providing additional evidence of the strong potential of OptiCept’s technology.

CREA is the leading Italian research institute in agriculture and food, operating under the Italian Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty, and Forestry. OptiCept and CREA previously established a leasing agreement to investigate the effects of PEF on juices from local raw materials. Today, the company published results from tests on blood orange juice, showing an extended shelf life of 15–20 days and improved nutritional values. According to the press release, CREA will continue testing other types of juices, with results to be published in a scientific report.
