Finnair Traffic Performance in April 2025

The number of passengers increased clearly despite flight cancellations related to industrial action, supported by the timing of Easter
In April, Finnair carried 968,600 passengers, which was 6.6% more than in April 2024. Passenger numbers saw good growth in Asian, North Atlantic, European and Domestic traffic but declined in Middle Eastern traffic. The number of passengers was supported by Easter taking place in April this year.
Overall capacity, measured in available seat kilometres (ASK), increased by 5.9%. Capacity grew significantly in North Atlantic, Asian and Domestic traffic, driven by added frequencies to Dallas and Chicago in the U.S., Osaka, Narita and Nagoya in Japan as well as Lapland in Finland. In Middle Eastern traffic, ASKs decreased due to the end of cooperation with Qatar Airways on flights between Stockholm, Copenhagen and Doha on 15 January 2025. Including wet lease outs, overall capacity increased by 3.3%.
Finnair's traffic, measured in revenue passenger kilometres (RPK), increased by 10.5%. RPKs increased across traffic areas, except for Middle Eastern traffic.
Passenger load factor (PLF) increased by 3.1% points to 75.7%. PLF improved in Asian, European and Middle Eastern traffic but declined in North Atlantic and domestic traffic.
Total cargo tonnes remained stable. Revenue cargo tonne kilometres increased by 2.7%.
In April, 80.2% of all Finnair flights arrived on schedule compared to 74.9% in the comparison period.
