When Swedish non-profit fitness association Friskis&Svettis opens a new facility in Malmö for the first time in 16 years, it will do so at Bures gata 13 (Bure 2), just steps from Hyllie station. The 670-square-metre facility will open in October, providing a valuable addition for both residents and employees in the area at a time when demand for easily accessible fitness options close to everyday life continues to grow.
For Friskis&Svettis, the new establishment marks another step in its long-term mission to get more Malmö residents moving. The association has operated in Malmö since 1984 and, following a challenging period in the wake of the pandemic, has seen steady membership growth in recent years.
The new facility will be the association's sixth in Malmö and will be located on the ground floor of the property. Here, Friskis is developing a more locally adapted format, designed for life in Hyllie with a focus on personal service and efficient training in a welcoming environment. The facility will offer gym training, group classes and Friskis&Svettis' digital "Smart Gym" concept - a circuit-based strength training solution providing personalised and time-efficient workouts. The offering will range from high-intensity training to lower-intensity options such as yoga and Pilates.
The property is located adjacent to Hyllie station, with fast connections to both Copenhagen Airport and central Malmö. The building is designed to support an active everyday lifestyle, with parking facilities, secure bicycle storage and changing rooms for cycling commuters.
The lease agreement with Wihlborgs Fastigheter runs for seven years.
