Intea has signed an agreement with the Swedish Police Authority regarding the construction of a new police station of just over 8,600 sqm in Värnamo.
Intea was awarded the project to build a new police station in Värnamo in December 2023.* Since then, the design phase and zoning plan work have been ongoing, and the parties have now entered into a lease agreement with an estimated annual rental value of SEK 25.3 million, with 70 percent CPI indexation. Intea’s share of the investment is estimated to amount to approximately SEK 400 million. The lease term is 12 years from completion, which is estimated to take place in the first quarter of 2029.
The property on which the police station will be built will be acquired from the Värnamo municipality and will cover approximately 20,000 sqm.
”Signing the agreement with the Swedish Police Authority marks an important milestone in the project. We are now moving into the next phase, which includes procurement of a contractor followed by construction”, says Olivia Eldh, Project Manager.
The lease agreement will be subject to government approval, among other conditions.
Intea is also constructing a new prison in Värnamo on behalf of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service.
